CellC Connect is pissing me off!

This is going to be a bit of a rant, so please feel free to skip this post if you’re not interested in hearing how crap and irritating it is to speak to clueless call centre agents every week.

For probably the past 2 months give or take I have been contacted on a weekly basis by some call centre agent from CellC Connect, every time it’s someone else and every time they can’t tell me where they got my number from and why they keep calling me… Now I know this may not be the call centre agent’s job and I do try to be civil with them, because they are only doing their jobs.

The annoying part is the fact that the supervisor is never available and the information stemming from the various agents are never the same. Last week Vuyo and if can recall correctly Cathy couldn’t remove me from the list, today Neo was so very polite and said he would take me off the list immediately. This remains to be seen as I have encountered many agents who can dodge bullets just to get you off the phone.

I do have some questions around this whole CellC Connect “Telephonic Spam” campaign:

  1. Clearly there are some people who fall for the whole I want new mobile phone because mine is now 2 weeks old yada yada yada, are you one of them?
  2. Where did they get my number? No one at CellC Connect can tell me, is this no part of the new laws that have been put in place for them to supply that information to me?

I am a Vodacom subscriber and have been for the past 10 years, they probably don’t have the best prices around, but damn they are at least a bit better than this.

I challenge the CellC Connect team to contact me or comment on this post and tell me how the hell they got my info? If you are also in the same boat, please comment below and maybe we can get them to catch a wake up ot something…

    I have the telephone numbers for the Sales Manager (Andrew Avela) and the MD (Morne Hall) if you are interested. I have the same problem with them. I am listed on the National Do Not Contact Me database that is maintained by DMASA of which Cell-C Connect is a member. I still want to know what the use of such a database is when it is ignored anyway.

    cell c service is crap from what im experiencing right now. i lost a phone and reported to cell c since i had cover on it. they assured me it will take 48 hours to be resolved that was on the 29/06/2009 and still today 14/07/2009 nothing and after re-faxing and calling, being put on hold endlessy or just my call being cut off there is still no response, they are working on it and what really brings to me boil with anger is that i have to call them. i wish i never took the damn phone

    I had two sim cards which were softlocked due to unpaid debit orders. I then made a payments and only one sim card (contract) was reconnected even though i made a request for two. After six weeks they managed to reconnect it with airtime of three months. i then used it for two to three weeks then again it was softlocked, whenever i try to make a call or check balance it say “your sim is reported missing” by whom i do not know, but stragne enough i can accpt incoming calls. I called customer care several times and being called by the customer care assuring me to reconnect it after ten minutes but still no changes. What must i do because this is not happening for the first this i happening and my phone bill is up to date. Do i really have to contact customer care with the same problem

    I would also like the number for the MD. The call centre agents are shocking!! A few minutes ago an agent by the name of Bongi was talking tome and laughing her backside off. I felt insulted and annoyed.

    I have 2 contracts with Cell C currently, and I pay them every month. I deserve service, seeing that I am paying for it.

    email support gets one no where.. It gets dealt with quietly, and kept away from the board of directors.. I have had enough! I spend more than an hour a week on the phone will cellc and slow systems….

    Can somebody please give me Cell C’s MD contact details, call centre agents no help, their email address, nobody bothers to respond. I was given a wrong contract by them in June, advised them but nobody seems to know anything, It shouldn’t have happened in the first place but nevertheless I spotted it, this matter should have been resolved the moment I advised them but it hasn’t been. It’s August now but still my matter is pending with all sorts of problems being shifted on me. Totally unacceptable. Surely if Agents don’t know how to, people from the senior positions can assist.

    Die 19 Aug 2009, het ‘n man van cellc connect my gebel met ‘n kontrak promosie, ek het toe ingestem met die kontrak en als is goedgekeur en die selfone ‘n Nokia 5000 en Nokia 1209 sou binne 5 dae afgelewer word. Ek het tot die Tracking nr van die courrier gekry, die weet van niks daar is net nie so pakkie wat afgelewer moet word nie. Van toe af het ek elke dag gebel om te hoor nou wat het van die selfone geword, elke keer is dit iemand anders wat antwoord en die belofte “ek bel nou weer terug” gebeur net nie. Die supervisors is nooit beskikbaar nie, vandag die 7de Sept het ek al weer met 2 van die mense gepraat en ek wag nog steeds vir die oproep want hul gaan mos nou uitvind wat aangaan. Ek is moeg gewag ek wil die kontrak kanseleer maar niemand wil my help nie my hande is afgekap ek weet nie wie meer om te bel nie en intussen jaag ek my tellefoon rekening op. Ek is gatvol.

    Dont worry, these a**holes are going out of business. My sister was screwed out of R50 000 of her pension money for a franchise I also have a colleague who experienced the same thing. They have had nothing but shoddy, 3rd rate back up and service from them since inception. They experienced the CCC call centre calling on clients they had signed up to renew their contracts with them and not the franchise owners who put the hard work in getting the clients. Please bear in mind, the individual franchise owners are not the ones hassling people. It is CCC’s own call centre.Now CCC, after ripping everyone off for a swift R55 000 to R65 000 a pop for a franchise are sending out letters saying basically, “So sorry for you, but your franchise has run out,good luck as we disappear into the sunset with millions of your money leaving you with nothing to show for your so called “Investment”"
    We are looking to sue CCC, so if anyone knows a good lawyer we want to bring a class action suit against them on behalf of all CCC franchise owners who have basically had their money stolen.

    I would like cellc connect to get the hell off my bank acc and to please make sure that the toy cell they forced me to keep after they lied to me that it is top of the range phone with voucher was a crap.

    I have made several attempt to call them but everytime I spoke to someone new who would ask me questions I have already unswered to hundred call centre staff. Dont you say your call will be recorded for quality perposes? Why then you never have any info when you attend to a query.

    One of the agents gave me this name Ellain at 031 583 2840 ext 144 but boy she is a zombithat is nowhere to be found.
    When you call 0861447766 you will listen to the horrible music then get cut off.

    Making bussiness means keep your customers happy they will come back
    to you for more.

    I want you to get lost on your way to hell and no one will bother to look for you. this goes to the zulu lady who was so rude to me when I called to inquered.
    The toy I got does not have the futures you told me about.

    Cell c sucks and i blame myself for renewing my contract. Last month they debited my account and a few days latter the money was back to my bank and they suspend my account and they cant even explain why they paid back the money since it was not a returne debit order cos I had enough money to cover 10x that.

    Hi Simon, i have the same problem as your sister, i feel my son was robbed R65000 for a franchice he bought, any contract he signed with a client and submitt to cell C is never approved,and few days later the very client will get a call from Cell C and be offered a contract by Cee C. the FRANCHICEE’s clients are always not approved but Cell C for yourself Franchicee’s clients are always approved. My son is been running this business for the past two years but he cant even afford to buy bread and we invested R65000 on the business. We really need help to get back the money.

    I have been trying to cancel the upgrade we ‘requested’ Some 6months ago, to no avail!
    So convenient that our service is cancelled, but oh no, not our debit order!
    The entire staff at Cell C Connect just pass the buck and refuse to let anyone near management, keeping our complaints swirling around the call centre offices.
    The call was made over 6 months ago, by a young Indian man at the callcentre, who wanted to persuade me into renewing my contract, as I actually had no problems with their service for the previous 2 years, I asked what phones they were offering,at that time I had gotten the contract with a Samsung E250, all they were willing to offer, were phones that were below par to what was already outdated! How insulting, so obviously I declined. The man then went behind my back and phoned my mother (who had gotten me the contract as a gift) and LIED to her, saying I requested an ‘upgrade’ of two NON COLOUR,NO MMS,CAMERA,BLUETOOTH OR EVEN INFRA RED, POLYPHONIC RINGTONE PIECE OF JUNK and delivered it to our doorstep! now months later, Ellaine is the only one who is actually contacting me, but still, after 1month of email back and forth, she informs me, get this: THAT MY REQUEST HAS BEEN SENT TO THE CALLCENTRE! oh my gosh, why didnt I think of that, gee thanks for all your help CCC!

    CELL C billing dept. sucks. We were on a control chat contract and when we upgraded in January 2010 we changed packages to the casual chat 100.
    Our package was changed before we evens received our phones. We followed up and our order hasn’t evens been placed for our upgraded phones which is crap by the way.

    We are now being billed every month for both packages. They keep disconnecting our lines saying there is R600 outstanding on our account and the more you try and explain that was for our old contract package the more they insist that it should be paid.

    Today I spoke to a lady called Tamara Sumbana and she advised that she has sent it off to their billing dept to be credited as she can see that we don’t own that on our account…FINALLY someone that I can communicate with. This query has been going on since January and hopefully she would get this sorted out.

    Our phones have been activated but when we try to call out it says its barred….I called again and I was told their Network is SLOW.

    My blood preassure is through the freaking roof already, Im so tired of the INCOMPETENCE and PATHETIC SERVICE.

    Who is their MD? Anyone have the contact deatails?
