Why not to spam your future clients

1.Its unethical

Email marketing is supposed to be the Tv advert or the radio message of the internet world. All of the above have to be approved by Broadcasting complaints commissions and so forth. Email is a lot harder to monitor, but it is still ethically wrong to try and score a free buck from the unsuspecting receivers of the mail. Spammers are not only a major source if irritation, but they steal your money indirectly. How you might ask, well you pay for internet access and bandwidth don’t you?  Spammers take hold of your valuable internet resources and only cost you money.

2.It will most definitely harm your reputation

Unsolicited email has for years been renowned as internet public enemy number one. If anyone gets as much as a sniff that you are behind a spoof email campaign or a unsolicited bulk email campaign you can be sure that the word will come out. If that gets to the wrong or right people, it could damage your business and even help sink it. The big boys don’t do it, have you ever received spam from Ebay, Amazon or Target, so why should you fall pray to this underhanded tactic?

3.Possible downtime and loss of internet services imposed by your service provider

All ISP’s or Internet Service Providers have signed and vowed to enforce a specific code of conduct barring them to send or allow their users to send unsolicited emails via their systems and even if it was from another, I am sure they will end their contract with your company because they might be implicated by association.

4.It’s illegal

As the internet becomes more accessible and countries around the world become more focused on their internet laws and the reinforcement of these laws it will become increasingly difficult to get away with spam. The United States government has even gone so far as to create their own anti-spam laws and departments to enforce these laws. So best you stay on the good side, they might be watching…

5.It doesn’t work

As far as I know I have never read a blog or heard any ramblings of anyone basing their millions and riches on a spamming model. The only ones that really win in these situations are the Spam providers themselves that take your money and promise you the heavens and earth only to never be heard from again…

Well, I hope this has given you some renewed ammo against those who spam you and your colleagues and has also helped to make you realized what the dangers and penalties are for convicted spammers.
