The most website owners rely on online marketing techniques to build a constant flow of traffic to their websites and of course a constant flow of cash into the wallet… One of the neglected marketing sources is of an offline marketing nature. Offline methods can range from giving out flyers on the street corner to adding your website address to the side of your car.
I have added 5 of the more simple and practical methods that most of you will have the most success with, they are also some of the easier and less expensive one’s to implement.
- Business cards – Most of the business cards around list the company’s website address, you can even do the same by listing your blog. This will help your blog stand out and even assist you in starting conversations with future and current clients.
- Letterheads and stationery – Create a letterhead to use for all your offline communication. Mention your blog or website address on your letterhead or any form of company correspondence for that matter. Other useful products you can brand is company cd’s or DVD’s. I always check the url’s of the correspondence I receive and I will definitely not be the only person doing so. Also consider giving your current customers a cool Christmas gift with your logo and services on. It will catch the eye and possibly a new customer…
- Stickers – Stickers can be very useful especially if you have a website or blog about young and happening services and or products. Something like a skateboard website or an online shop. Stickers or as they are called: Vinyl’s on the side of your car can also be a very effective form of communication!
- Presentations and talks – By putting your website or blog’s address on every piece of paper people will remember your address and most surely go and have a look when they have nothing else to do. To drive this home even further you can post electronic version of your presentations on that website, advertise that you will be posting it there. That will make visitors return and become usual clients that check out your website for new info on regular occasions.
These tips will help you create more website traffic through offline marketing. These are no substatution for good content but they will go along way to making you a household name on the internet and beyond!

Great ideas here. Offline is almost forgotten!
From my experience, getting free traffic can be tough. It takes a lot of work. YOu might spend 2 or 3 hours building traffic and only get a few hits.
If you have no long term plan to capture those visitors it can be a total waste of time.
Once you find the traffic methods that work for you then it is ideal to apply them over and over until you see great results.
The key is to persist. It can be quite easy if you persist.

The thing about offline marketing is that it can be something so simple that can make a big difference. Just a subtle logo in the corner or a catchy tag-line can make someone go back to the website.
Thanks Gerry, let me know if you have some good ideas.
