Packaging Fail – PepsiCo and Tropicana

Tropicana Packaging

PepsiCo gets it wrong, after launching their new packaging design for the their premium orange juice range Tropicana, PepsiCo will have to revert back to the old packaging design due to client dissatisfaction and public pressure. The new branding that debuted on the shelves in January 2009 will be discontinued by the end of February 2009.

This is what one shopper had to say:

“Do any of these package-design people actually shop for orange juice?” the writer of one e-mail message asked rhetorically. “Because I do, and the new cartons stink.”

I cant image what shots the advertising company and marketing staff over at PepsiCo must be dealing with. OUCH!
