With Aids awareness being the main topic of this year’s Cannes film festival, event organizer found a great way to raise funds on a public auction with this brilliant little Fiat 500C by Diesel. The Fiat 500C Diesel edition features a special dark green metallic paint job and special detailing inside and out which includes fiat’s funky retro folding fabric roof. Hollard’s Pay as you Drive car insurance may just be the solution for you. If like me, you pay way too much for car insurance, but unfortunately you can’t do without. This unique option from Hollard insurance might just be the answer for you. Having moved closer to work, I don’t drive that much anymore, so a per kilometre insurance package might be a viable option.

The less you drive, the less you pay…

This is what Hollard had to say about their new offering on the website:

Pay As You Drive™ works just like your cell phone contract, where you pay a monthly fee upfront. You also get free minutes and when you’ve exceeded your free minutes, you start to pay for your calls.With Hollard Pay As You Drive™ your premium is split into two parts;

1. a fixed monthly premium which insures you against those incidents that can occur – even if you are not travelling KM’s, such as theft.
2. a variable monthly premium which is based on the amount of kilometres you drive every month. The variable monthly premium only starts charging you once you’ve travelled more than 417km’s a month.

The fixed premium is calculated on normal insurance factors such as your age, your address, the vehicle you drive etc.

The variable premium again uses your personal insurance factors to calculate a cents per kilometre rate for you. So, to calculate your total monthly premium, the kilometres you travel each month are multiplied by your cents per kilometre rate and this is added to the fixed monthly premium.

Our Hollard Pay As You Drive™ is unique because we will not charge you a premium for kilometres that are over 3 200km’s each month. Your premium is capped at this point so even though you may travel more than 3 200km’s in a month, you will not pay for any kilometres travelled beyond 3 200km’s each month.

Plus, the Hollard Pay As You Drive™ also does not load your premium for business use. Our premium includes a discounted monthly subscription fee for the Tracker Skytrax tracking device, which provides considerable savings to you.

How good does the new Toyota MR 2 look. This guy is poised to be the successor to the previous MR 2 that ceased production in 2007 and the main rival to the new Honda CR-Z.

The new MR 2 Prius based Hybrid will boast an impressive rear-wheel-drive chassis, a paddle shift gearbox and a specially developed version of the Prius’s hybrid powertrain. Although I don’t personally see this go doing well in a place like South Africa, what a beautiful car!

The advertising for the new Audi Q5 struck me as very well made and pretty creative. The one thing that I picked up though is that all the ad agencies are moving in the same direction lately, especially when it comes to the Motor Industry. I nice ad nonetheless.
